Classic Games: 5 months ago · ViewI think a classic game is any game that signifies a landmark period, a game that as soon as you hear the name, the music, or see the game running, you’re transpoted back to the time when you loved it.

Classic Games: 5 months, 2 weeks ago · ViewI think any game that is at least 10-15 years old and more is considerend a classic game. Partly because the graphic technology and gameplay is always changing.

Classic Games: 5 months, 2 weeks ago · ViewFor me, the most beloved classic game would have to be Pokemon. I’m an odd gamer in that I never played Zelda, Metroid, or other games accepted as ’classic’. But, Pokemon and Game Freak from Red/Blue to Ruby/Sapphire owned my life all during middle school.

Classic Games: 7 months ago · ViewHere’s a real classic game. I was a poor kid and my cousin gave me a lot of games he played when he was a kid, this was a simple but fun one. Reminds me a lot of gamemaker games. Anyway, I want this for my droid

Classic Games: 7 months ago · ViewA classic game (by my definition) is either an older generation of game that was well known or recognized as such or a game that has been recognized and had an original gameplay element. Goldeneye, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Ratchet & Clank are example of games that I consider classic of an older generation [...]

Classic Games: 7 months ago · ViewI think pretty recent games can also be considered classic. Halo is undoubtedly a classic game. So are the first 3 Resident Evil games. ((4 is still questionable)).

Classic Games: 7 months ago · ViewI don’t think classic games specifically need to be “old” games. I find games such as Ico or Demon Souls to be classic. Those games are often referred to and are sought after often.

Classic Games: 7 months, 1 week ago · ViewA classic game is most likely a game from first generation consoles that people do not forget and is still played or referred to today. A game that is so good, that it is constantly referenced. Super Mario is classic, but so is Final Fantasy 7. Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are classic, but Dead [...]

Classic Games: 7 months, 2 weeks ago · View”Classic” is very subjective. I personally consider the snes, 64, and gameboy games as classic because these were some of the first games that I got in to. Some people view the first halo as classic because most people play the halo 3. It’s entirely what you think

Classic Games: 7 months, 2 weeks ago · ViewJust Nintendo games? What about SNES, Gamecube, Playstation 1, Atari, old PC games too?
If we go by old PC games, then yeah! I’ve played a lot of the old Sierra DOS games like Space Quest, Quest for Glory and the like.
Oh man, Space Quest and King’s Quest haha. We had a 1980 tandy pc til like 1994 so we grew up playing those games and games on 5.25 floppies like the Great Escape and Stephen King’s the Mist — a single-player text game. I used to print out those rooms and write notes about what else I could do next time to win the game. I think my first PC game was the Black Cauldron or Space Quest. Definitely a gamer kid from the start….
Definitely!
I think my first computer game was Space Quest 2. I also played a lot of the Commander Keen games, good lord were those brilliant.
wow i completely forgot about Keen, good memories!
Anyone ever play MUDs? Gemstone, DragonRealms, or the various Diku ROM or MUSHes etc?
You know it! I used to draw commissions for text based game characters quite a bit back then. Not professionally of course as I was quite a bit less experienced, but more through art trade and the like.
I even used to play around with snippets and code edits, and found it a lot of fun
