Gamification
Public Group active 5 months, 2 weeks agoPitch the task you think is worth gamifying. Consider a task you engage in that is productive but not engaging on rewarding. Examples include routines, like the toothbrushing example from Schell’s video, or process like getting a licence renewed at the MVA. Pick something small enough that you can feasibly make a plan for every stage and context.

Here are the rules:
Game is played out on Google Maps
Mileage is logged in each day, these miles are akin to “rolling the dice” and put you somewhere on the map – on the way to the destination
The miles will put you on a space that will either make you:
- lose a turn (car accident!)
- skip ahead (green light!)
- or detour you somewhere else (detour ahead!)First player to reach the destination — wins!

Maybe if you get a certain score, you get recycle bucks which can be spent at participating second-hand stores or something. Trade in points for perks or discounts sponsored by the green industry.
