Game Plan Presentation

Last semester, each team produced a game design document that outlined the initial prototype goals. As the project has diverged from those initial goals, it should have evolved to reflect lessons learned from playtesting, user feedback, and changing design intentions.

We will begin this semester by revisiting the game design document and sharing a revised  plan for reaching the final outcomes. Presentations can be delivered using any visual tool, but Prezi is recommended.

Make sure to address:

  • Revised scope of the prototype (scale and content)
  • Playtesting and user feedback, and your solutions / changes
  • Changes in game mechanics, genre or narrative
  • Plans for expansion of environment, story and other content
  • Goals for final game aesthetics, and a plan for reaching them

Presentations will be on February 8th. On your scheduled presentation day, your full team should be present and ready to go. There will be an interlude prior to presentations for you to test your technology and make sure your presentation is working. Ideally, you will bring your presentation on a flash drive or use an online tool. Make sure that all members of your group contribute to the pitch in some way, even if one member of your team is the designated “business” person who does the bulk of the talking. Be prepared to answer questions about your pitch following your presentation. As an audience member, you will be expected to perform a peer evaluation of each pitch and ask questions. Your visuals should be emailed to me on the day of the presentation.
