The PDP1 was basically the first interactive computer invented( as opposed to data gathering computers previously created). PDP1 stands for program data processor one. For the first time ever companies had options to purchase these devices to overall improve thier productivity. This computer spawned the first hackers, and enabled the users to create forms of debugging, textediting, music and game progams. The first computergame “Spacewar” was invented on the PDP1computer. In 1957 Harlen Anderson and Ken Olsen left MIT Lincoln Laboratory to form DigitalEquipment Corporation (DEC) they spent $70,000 to form the company.
